AASU Sends Message, Condoles President, People of Ghana over Death of Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Rashid Bawa

The All-Africa Students’ Union (AASU) has sent a message of condolence to the President, the entire Government and Peoples of Ghana, including members of Ghana Diplomatic Missions to the Federal Republic of Nigeria over the death of Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Rashid Bawa.

An Executive Director to the Presidency of AASU, Mr Abrhaley Arefaine Hailenchael, on the instructions of the President of the All-Africa Students’ Union HE Osisiogu Osikenyi E., conveyed “the heartfelt condolences of the entire continental Students’ Movement over the loss of H.E. Rashid Bawa; Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday.”

In their Statement of Condolence, the students added, “ Cognizant that Late Ambassador Rashid Bawa – an erstwhile Member of Ghanaian Parliament for Akan Constituency from 2001 to 2005; Ghana Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; and until his death – Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria since 2017 who contributed immensely to furthering the longstanding and strategic relations between Nigeria and Ghana – we share in the grief of her loss.

“This is us conveying our condolences to President Nana Akuffo-Addo; entire Government and Peoples of Ghana; and indeed, members of Ghana Diplomatic Missions to the Federal Republic of Nigeria – while urging you all and his immediate Family to find solace in the fact that this is ALLAH’s ultimate will.

“Once again, accept our heartfelt condolence – please”, AASU said.
