Effurun Rotary Club Installs 40th President, Rotarian Florence Chukwuebuni, with N12.6m Community Projects Pledge
The Rotary Club of Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, has installed Rotarian Mrs. Florence Chukwuebuni as its 40th President.
The installation ceremony, which took place on Saturday, was attended by dignitaries, including Dr. Vincent Udume Odogbor, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Mass Mobilization.
In a congratulatory message, Dr. Odogbor described Rotarian Chukwuebuni’s emergence as “very well deserved” and expressed joy at seeing his sister rise to the position of President.
He acknowledged the impact of the Rotary Club’s humanitarian and community projects, which align with the Governor’s MORE Agenda to improve the quality of life for Deltans.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Odogbor emphasized the importance of community service and the role of the Rotary Club in improving the quality of life and healthy environment. He congratulated Rotarian Chukwuebuni and wished her a successful and impactful tenure. 
In her address, Rotarian Chukwuebuni outlined her strategic projects for the year, totaling N12.6 million. These projects include:
- Donation of delivery kits to indigenous women (N1.4 million)
- Support for 10 petty traders (N1 million)
- Free youth training with vocational skills (N2.5 million)
- Distribution of mosquito nets and free anti-malaria drugs (N500,000)
- Quiz competition and scholarship award for winners in selected secondary schools (N400,000)
- Installation of a gate at Ebrumede Secondary School (N1 million)
- Food distribution projects for the needy in rural communities (N1 million)
- Peace Summit/Peace football tournament among communities (N3.5 million)
- Provision of portable water borehole in two communities (N1.5 million)
Rotarian Chukwuebuni called on Rotarians and concerned citizens to partner with her to achieve these projects. The Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Dr. Barry Gbe, and Dr. Vincent Udume Odogbor were among those who made donations to support the initiative.
The installation of Rotarian Chukwuebuni as the 40th President of the Rotary Club of Effurun marks a significant milestone in the club’s history, and her commitment to community projects is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of Deltans.
