UNN Faculty of Engineering Witnesses Seamless Transition as Prof. Ejiogu Bows Out, Prof. Ezema Takes Over
The Faculty of Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) recently witnessed a seamless transition of leadership as Engr. Prof. Emenike Chinedozi Ejiogu bowed out as Dean, handing over the reins to Engr. Prof. Ikechukwu Ezema.
The Valedictory Board Meeting, Handover Ceremony, and End of Tenure Party were held at the Drawing Hall of the Faculty, where Engr. Prof. Ejiogu presented his report card after 24 months of leading the Faculty. He expressed joy and satisfaction with the achievements of his administration, including the establishment of revenue-generating facilities such as a motor mechanic workshop, the Faculty journal, NLNG Lab, and faculty consulting unit.
Engr. Prof. Ejiogu received a standing ovation from academic and non-academic members of the Faculty as he formally handed over to Engr. Prof. Ezema. In his response, the new Dean assured that he would unite the Faculty to enhance peace and ensure uninterrupted academic activities. He emphasized that peace is a continuous process that requires vigilance from all stakeholders.
Engr. Prof. Ezema described the transition as seamless, noting that he and Engr. Prof. Ejiogu are friends, colleagues, and brothers. He likened the handover to a father handing over to his son, emphasizing the cordial relationship between the outgoing and incoming Deans.
The ceremony marked the end of Engr. Prof. Ejiogu’s tenure and the beginning of a new era under Engr. Prof. Ezema’s leadership. The Faculty of Engineering, UNN, is poised for greater achievements with the new leadership, building on the foundations laid by Engr. Prof. Ejiogu’s administration.
The event was attended by members of the Faculty Board, Heads of Departments, academic and non-academic staff, and students, who all witnessed the historic transition.
