The Ogbonicha Ward Football Competition 2024 is set to kick off on December 26, 2024, at the Ogbonicha Central Field, featuring five teams from the ward. The competition aims to promote youth development and talent discovery in the community.
Mal. Idris Ademu, a critical stakeholder, has called on prominent children of Ogbonicha Ward to invest in the youths of the community. This investment, he believes, will provide a platform for the youths to showcase their talents, create job opportunities, and stimulate economic growth in the area.
According to Mr. Abah Benjamin Eneojoh, head of Media and Public Orientation, the competition is a talent hunt that will provide a platform for the youths to showcase their skills and talents.
He noted that the competition will also promote unity and social cohesion among the people of Ogbonicha Ward.
The competition will feature five teams, including Lion Star FC of Ogalaja/Ofada, Young Star FC of Emododa, Adoja FC of Ogbonicha, Golden Star FC of Etiukwo/Ofodo, and Super Star FC of Ofabo. The fixtures for the competition have been scheduled, with the first matches kicking off on December 26, 2024.
The Chairman of the organising committee, Mr. Atabo Enemona Caleb, has appealed to all prominent children of Ogbonicha Ward to come and support the competition. He urged supporters to come out in solidarity for their clubs, stating that this is the only way to sustain this noble gesture.
