Hon. David Zacharias, the lawmaker representing Idah Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the establishment of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC). According to Hon. Zacharias, the commission is a long-overdue initiative aimed at fostering development in the North Central region, and President Tinubu has demonstrated visionary leadership by making it a reality.

In a statement issued to the press, Hon. Zacharias noted that the creation of the NCDC will bring significant transformation to the North Central geopolitical zone, addressing key developmental challenges such as infrastructure deficits, economic empowerment, security, and social welfare.

“This is a welcome development and a step in the right direction. The North Central region has long deserved a dedicated commission to accelerate growth and development, just like other regions with similar commissions. President Tinubu has shown his commitment to inclusive governance by ensuring that this long-standing demand is finally met,” he stated.

Hon. Zacharias, who serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Safety Standards, urged the people of Idah Federal Constituency and the entire North Central region to remain hopeful, assuring them that President Tinubu’s administration is determined to deliver positive changes. He emphasized that the new commission will open doors for job creation, infrastructure development, and enhanced security in the region.

Furthermore, the lawmaker called on the federal government to prioritize the North Central zone in developmental policies, describing it as one of the most peaceful regions in the country. He stressed that greater attention to the region would yield lasting benefits for the nation, given its strategic importance in Nigeria’s socio-economic framework.

“I urge President Tinubu to pay close attention to the North Central region. This is a region with enormous potential and a history of peace and stability. Investing in the North Central will not only boost economic activities but also strengthen national unity,” he added.
