Federal Government Sets Stage for 2025 YEIA Boot Camp with Inter-Ministerial Committee Inauguration

In a strategic move to advance youth innovation and entrepreneurship under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the Federal Government has inaugurated an Inter-Ministerial Planning Committee for the 2025 Youth Entrepreneurial and Innovation Alliance (YEIA) Boot Camp. This initiative is in collaboration with the Bangladesh Business and Technology Forum.
At the inauguration ceremony held at the Ministry of Youth Development headquarters in Abuja, Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, described the Boot Camp as a dynamic avenue to harness creativity, enhance entrepreneurial skills, and foster bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Bangladesh.
He emphasized that the initiative will promote cross-border innovation, attract investment in emerging technologies, and build youth capacity through training, industry exposure, and cultural exchange programs.
“The Boot Camp is designed to drive strategic engagements between public and private sector actors, mobilize resources, and provide our youth with the tools and exposure needed for global competitiveness,” the Minister stated.
The committee, comprising representatives from key ministries and strategic sectors, was charged with ensuring Nigeria’s active and impactful participation. Comrade Olawande urged members to approach their roles with diligence and creativity in line with the committee’s Terms of Reference.
Delivering welcome remarks on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya, the Acting Director of Enterprise Development and Promotion, Mr. Mike Ugwuogu, noted the international scope of the 2025 Boot Camp, which will bring together innovators and entrepreneurs from around the world. He highlighted the significance of the event, set to be hosted in Bangladesh, as a critical opportunity for Nigerian youth to showcase their capabilities on the global stage.
President of the Nigeria-Bangladesh Business and Technology Forum, Mr. Bob Achanya, lauded the initiative as a vital bridge connecting youth, policymakers, and industry leaders. He reaffirmed the goal of empowering over 10 million young people through mentorship, training, and entrepreneurship-focused platforms that support long-term economic development.
The Ministry reiterated its unwavering commitment to fostering an enabling environment for youth advancement and positioning Nigerian youth as global innovation leaders.
