Equitable Distribution Across 361 Wards

With meticulous planning and community involvement, 40,000 goats were allocated across all 361 wards in the state, ensuring inclusiveness and equity. Beneficiaries were carefully selected through a ward-based verification system to guarantee that those most in need received support.

Director livestock Gambo Abubakar emphasized the importance of sustainability in the program. “We are not just giving animals; we are also providing training on modern livestock management to ensure proper care and productivity, he noted.

Early reports from beneficiaries indicate that the program is already making a significant impact. Families are utilizing goat milk and meat for both domestic consumption and small-scale trading, while some are expanding into breeding and local sales.

The distribution of 40,000 goats marks only the beginning. The Katsina State Government, through the Office of the Special Adviser on Livestock, has unveiled plans to integrate veterinary support, feed supply, and further training modules to ensure the long-term viability of the program.
