The Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL), alongside 21 affiliate civil society organizations across Nigeria, has declared strong support and solidarity with prominent northern political figure, Nasiru Danu, describing him as a committed patriot and a symbol of youth inclusion in Nigeria’s democratic process.
In a press statement issued in Abuja on March 5, 2026, and signed by the President of AYAGL, Abdul Danbature, the youth organization praised Danu for his loyalty to democratic ideals and his continued efforts toward national development and grassroots empowerment.
The statement emphasized that the coalition of youth and civil society organizations considered it necessary to publicly express support for Danu at a time when, according to the group, his contributions to national progress and youth engagement remain significant.
AYAGL said:
“The Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL), in collaboration with 21 affiliate Civil Society Organizations across Nigeria, wishes to use this medium to express our unwavering support and solidarity with Nasiru Danu, a proud son of Northern Nigeria and a committed patriot who has continued to demonstrate loyalty to the ideals of democracy and national development.”
The group further highlighted Danu’s alignment with the policy direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly his support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to the statement:
“Nasiru Danu has remained a strong believer and supporter of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His dedication to national progress and grassroots empowerment is evident through his consistent efforts to support people across communities, particularly at the grassroots level.”
The organization described Danu as a dynamic youth mobilizer whose engagement with young Nigerians has strengthened democratic participation and political awareness.
“Nasiru Danu is widely known as a young, vocal, and energetic mobilizer who has always stood firmly in support of Nigerian youths and democratic values. His contributions toward strengthening participation in governance and his commitment to national unity have earned him recognition among young people and political stakeholders alike.”
AYAGL also used the opportunity to commend the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for working with credible young leaders such as Danu in advancing the government’s development agenda.
The statement noted:
“We also wish to appreciate the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for recognizing and working with credible young leaders such as Nasiru Danu in advancing the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Reaffirming Danu’s political credentials, the group described him as a committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a consistent advocate of democratic participation and party stability.
“Nasiru Danu is an astute grassroots mobilizer and a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who has consistently demonstrated commitment to the growth and stability of the party as well as the democratic process in Nigeria. His contributions to political engagement and community support remain invaluable.”
The coalition, however, issued a strong warning against what it described as attempts by individuals or groups to undermine Danu through misinformation or political manipulation.
“We want to make it categorically clear that the Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership and our affiliate civil society organizations will not allow any individual or group to use political manipulation or misinformation to undermine one of our own. As an organization built on integrity and truth, we refuse to be used against Nasiru Danu or any leader who has demonstrated genuine commitment to the welfare of the people.”
AYAGL maintained that Danu represents a growing movement for youth participation in governance and grassroots political engagement across Nigeria.
“Nasiru Danu remains a symbol of youth inclusion, grassroots mobilization, and democratic participation. His unwavering support for the people and his political party continues to inspire many young Nigerians who believe in service, loyalty, and nation-building.”
The organization concluded by urging Nigerians, particularly young people, to continue supporting leaders who demonstrate genuine commitment to the welfare of citizens and the consolidation of democracy.
“We therefore call on well-meaning Nigerians, especially youths across the country, to continue supporting leaders who demonstrate commitment to the people and the democratic ideals of our nation.”
