The Umuigbo United Assembly (UUA) Worldwide has announced the death of its National Woman Leader, Her Excellency Princess Nne Nana Onwodi, describing her passing as a monumental loss to the organisation and the broader Igbo community.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its National Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade James Ezema, the Assembly conveyed โprofound sorrow and a deep sense of collective lossโ over the demise of the revered leader, who was also a former presidential aspirant under the defunct Alliance for a United Nigeria (AUN).
โIt is with profound sorrow and a deep sense of collective loss that the Umuigbo United Assembly Worldwide (UUA) announces the passing of our esteemed National Woman Leader, Her Excellency Princess Nne Nana Onwodi,โ the statement declared.
The UUA paid tribute to Onwodiโs impactful leadership, portraying her as โa distinguished leader, a committed advocate for unity, and a passionate voice for the advancement of the Igbo people both at home and in the diaspora.โ
According to the Assembly, her role in strengthening the organisation was both โimmense and enduring,โ particularly through her efforts in championing womenโs participation. It noted that she โexemplified dedication, courage, and visionary leadership,โ and was pivotal in mobilising women while fostering inclusiveness within the Assembly. 
Highlighting her broader contributions, the statement stressed that her influence extended beyond the UUA. โHer legacy extends beyond organisational leadership,โ it stated, citing her โcommitment to national development, her advocacy for good governance, and her unwavering belief in the power of collective action to transform society.โ
The organisation said news of her death came as a shock across its global membership. โThe news of her passing has come as a great shock to the entire Umuigbo family worldwide. We mourn not only a leader but also a mother, mentor, and unifying figure whose presence will be sorely missed,โ the statement added.
The UUA extended condolences to her family and associates, saying, โOn behalf of the leadership and entire membership of Umuigbo United Assembly Worldwide, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her immediate family, associates, and all who were touched by her life and service.โ
It also offered prayers for her repose, adding, โWe pray that Almighty God grants her soul eternal rest and gives her loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss.โ
The Assembly stated that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
