A humanitarian collaboration between the Kende Aid Foundation (KAF) and the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency seat, Osisiogu Osikenyi E., has brought relief and hope to widows and vulnerable residents in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The outreach programme, which featured the distribution of wrappers and financial support to widows ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, was organized as part of efforts to improve the welfare of underserved members of the community.
Speaking on the initiative, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kende Aid Foundation, Hajarah Ibrahim, said the intervention was driven by the foundation’s commitment to spreading love, care, and hope among vulnerable populations.
“The outreach was carried out to spread love, hope, care and unity among the people. The NGO was dedicated to my late mother, and that is why I always remember those who have lost their loved ones and vulnerable people in society,” she said.
According to her, the foundation has continued to make a positive impact through healthcare support, empowerment programmes, and other humanitarian interventions targeted at less privileged individuals and families.
Hajarah Ibrahim explained that the Karu outreach was facilitated through the YPP House of Representatives candidate Osikenyi, who invited the foundation to extend assistance to widows and other vulnerable persons in the area.
“He invited me to come and show love, care and hope to his community. We distributed wrappers, while he personally provided financial support to the beneficiaries to assist them during Salah,” she stated.
The Kende Aid Foundation founder praised the YPP candidate for demonstrating concern for the welfare of ordinary people and for using his platform to attract support for vulnerable members of his constituency.
“For him to approach us and draw attention to people in need within his community shows that he genuinely cares about their welfare,” she said.
Ibrahim also expressed optimism about Osikenyi’s emergence as the YPP candidate for the forthcoming House of Representatives election, describing him as a selfless leader with a passion for community development.
“I am happy and overwhelmed because I know he is going to do more. He is a selfless person and a man of his word. He puts his people first, and I believe he will continue to do so,” she said.
She added that as a young leader, Osikenyi understands the challenges confronting many residents and is well-positioned to champion initiatives that address their needs.
Looking ahead, Ibrahim assured the public that Kende Aid Foundation would sustain and expand its humanitarian programmes across communities.
“You should expect more outreaches and empowerment programmes from us by God’s grace,” she said.
Kende Aid Foundation is a humanitarian organization dedicated to restoring hope, care, and dignity to vulnerable and marginalized communities. The foundation provides food relief, healthcare assistance, empowerment programmes, and community development initiatives, particularly for widows, orphans, internally displaced persons, and underserved households.
The recent partnership in Karu underscores the growing role of collaboration between humanitarian organizations and community leaders in addressing social challenges and improving the lives of vulnerable citizens at the grassroots level.
