Few hours after the ruling the the Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which removed him from office, Governor Darius Ishaku has vowed to appeal the verdict of the Elections Petitions Tribunal.
The tribunal on Saturday in Abuja quashed the victory of Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and declared Senator Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the 2015 governorship election.
Governor Ishaku at a news conference in Jalingo on Saturday said he would appeal the verdict, adding that he believed that the Court of Appeal would reverse the judgment.
Reacting to the judgment, former Secretary to the Taraba Government, Mr Gibeon Kataps, said Ishaku remained the governor, until the determination of the case at the Court of Appeal.
