The Senate President, Senator Olusola Saraki today at plenary promised to distribute copies of the 2016 budget proposal to the Senators Thursday preparatory for debate next Tuesday.

He was reacting to a point of order raised by Senator Eninaya Abaribe concerning the where about of the 2016 budget proposal.

Meanwhile the Spokeman of the Senate, Senator Aliyu Asabi Abdullahi confirmed on Wednesday that the 2016 budget is in the custody of the Senate and not missing as was widely reported in the media, the Head, Press and Public Relations,
Charles Akpan, said in a statement.

Meanwhile the Senate President on his tweeter handle, said the senate will commence debate on the 2016 Appropriation Bill from Tuesday 19th January.

A tweet from the Twitter account of the Nigerian Senate, reads, “Senate President @bukolasaraki announces that the debate of #2016AppropriationBill will commence on Tuesday 19th January 2016.”
