Nnamdi Kanu Drags Nigeria To Ecowas Court, Demands $800 Million Over Illegal Detention

The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has sued the Federal Republic of Nigeria at ECOWAS Court, demanding $800 million for unjust and illegal detention.
Those joined as co-defendants in the matter were the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Kanu filed the suit on March 3, 2016 pursuant to relevant portions of the African Charter of Human and Peoples Rights, The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, among others.
