The Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Nasarawa State has thrown its weight behind former governorship candidate and frontline politician, , ahead of the forthcoming Nasarawa North Senatorial District bye-election, as the party intensified grassroots mobilization efforts across the zone.
The endorsement came on Saturday during a high-level stakeholders’ engagement convened by the state chapter of the YPP in Akwanga, where hundreds of party faithful, youth groups, women organizations, community leaders, and other political stakeholders gathered to strategize ahead of the crucial poll.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, the newly elected substantive Chairman of the YPP in Nasarawa State, , urged party members and supporters across the senatorial district to unite behind Ombugadu, describing him as the most qualified candidate in the race.

According to Umaru, the bye-election presents a unique opportunity for the people of Nasarawa North to elect a representative with proven leadership credentials, grassroots appeal, and a clear vision for the development of the district.
He maintained that Ombugadu’s record in public service and his longstanding engagement with communities across the state distinguish him from other contenders seeking the senatorial seat.
“The forthcoming election is a defining moment for our people. We believe Rt. Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu possesses the experience, competence, and commitment required to effectively represent Nasarawa North at the National Assembly,” Umaru said.
The state chairman also emphasized the party’s commitment to supporting leaders who champion youth empowerment, inclusive governance, economic growth, and sustainable development, stressing that the YPP remains focused on advancing the interests of the people above partisan considerations. 
The stakeholders’ meeting further underscored the party’s growing influence in Nasarawa State, with participants expressing confidence in the prospects of the endorsed candidate and pledging to intensify grassroots campaigns across wards and polling units within the district.
Observers at the event noted a strong sense of unity and enthusiasm among attendees, with several community leaders and political mobilizers committing to expand voter outreach efforts ahead of the election. 
The Nasarawa North Senatorial bye-election is expected to attract significant political attention as parties and candidates intensify campaigns in the final weeks before voters head to the polls.
