Eha-Alumona Unity Forum Donates Noodles, Rice and Yam To The People

Eight philanthropists of Eha-Alumona Unity Forum have donated 1, 955 Noodles, 3,200 tubers of yam and 400 bags of rice as palliatives to the poor and the vulnerable people in the 9 communities that constitute Eha- Alumona.
Making the donation yesterday at the Premier Primary School, Eha-Uno, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, the Chairman of the Forum, High Chief William Agbo, Director and Chief Executive Officer of Willson Nigeria Limited, said that the donation was to cushion the effect of the lockdown order by Enugu State Government on the poor and the vulnerables in the 9 communities of Eha-Alumona as a result of the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the entire humanity.
High Chief Agbo listed other donors as Chief Prince Emeka Odo, Chairman, Enugu State Board of Internal Revenue, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Nwamba, Member, representing Nsukka East State Constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly and Chief Roderick Ugwu, Member, Local Government Service Commission, Enugu.
Others include Engr. Sam Eze, Director, Sameze Engineering Company, Nsukka, Chief Julius Ugwuanyi, Director, Chibeco Oil and Gas, Chief Jude Agbo, Director, Jumaco Enterprises and Chief Barr. Mellitus Eze, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Enugu State.
The Street Reporters Newspaper reports that Chief Agbo also listed the names of the communities in Eha-Alumona to include EhaAzuebo, Eha-Uno, Eha-Ndiagu, Eha-Etiti and Ezebunagu.
Others include Breme, Agu-Umabor, Umabor and Agbamere, adding that because of the social distancing rule as a way of containing the spread of the the virus the communities were represented each by four persons only.
Such representatives include a traditional ruler, town Union President-General and two (2) other persons.
The Director, Willson Nigeria Limited stressed the need for the items to reach the targeted audience in the communities.
He urged the people to continue to maintain the rules against the pandemic such as social distancing, washing of hands frequently and sanitizing afterwards, avoiding shaking of hands and crowd,staying at home,among others.
Receiving the items on behalf of the communities, the Chairman of the traditional rulers of the 9 communities, His Royal Highness, Igwe Dr. Donatus Edeji Eze, Ike Oha 1 of Eha- Ndiagu, commended the donors for their concern for humanity.
Igwe Eze, who maintained that the Eha-Alumona Unity Forum had been rendering useful humanitarian services to the society,assured the Forum that the items donated would be given to the deserving members of the communities.
He called on other philanthropic organizations within and outside the communities to emulate the kind gesture of the Eha-Alumona Unity Forum.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Nsukka local government council, High Chief Patrick Kenechukwu Omeje (jnr), who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Barr. Cosmas Ibeziakor Ugwueze commended the donors for the gesture, but emphasized the need for the people to adhere strictly to the rules in order to contain the spread of the virus, adding that the virus did not mean well for humanity.
In his speech, Chief Prince Emeka Odo reminded the people that COVID.19 is a global pandemic. He said because of the situation, they felt that they should come together to help them and urged them to obey all the rules so as to minimize the spread and a lot of deaths.
Dr. Chinedu Nwamba also encouraged the people to take it easy,noting that it is a trial period.
He urged the people not to go about mixing with people.
