It’s Official: Waziri Bulama is New APC National Secretary, All About Him

After several setbacks to assume the office, Arc. Waziri Bulama has finally taken his oath of office as the new acting National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The swearing ceremony which just took place at the party national secretariat on Monday, conducted by the party’s national chairman Adams Oshiomhole, had two governors of Borno and Gombe in attendance.

Oshiomhole said that the party consulted President Muhammadu Buhari and other relevant stakeholders before adopting Bulama as the party’s acting national secretary.

“The party had been meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and other stakeholders who came to a conclusion that Alhaji Waziri Bulama should be admitted as the acting national secretary of the party, pending the ratification by the National Convention,” he said.

Responding, Bulama said that he had no agenda of his own, promising to work along with other party executives to move the party forward.

He lauded the contributions of the founding fathers of the APC and the feat achieved by the current NWC of the party.

Bulama assured the national chairman of his resolve to help build a formidable and united APC.

Arch. Waziri Bulama was first named the new National Secretary by the National Working Committee(NWC) of the All Progressives Congress(APC) sometimes in February.

He was named during a stormy NWC meeting with the National Vice Chairman North East, Comrade Salihu Mustapha, insisting the announcement should not be made after a motion to that effect was reportedly moved by the National Legal Adviser, Barrister Ogala.

The controversy generated dragged until his swearing in by the party’s national chairman.

Architect Bulama Waziri was born to a loving family of the Waziri’s in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria in the year 1961, where he established his career with a humble begining.

He was privileged to be among the few distinguished elites who holds Msc In Architecture from ABU Zaria and MSC entrepreneurship of the university of Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom in the 80s.

Arch. Bulama Waziri does not only have vast knowledge but a highly recommendable working experience of over 30 years in various fields like spanning public service, bussiness and politics.

He was the Deputy Director General of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s presidential campaign council 2019. He was a member of the Security sub committee of the Ahmed Joda Transition committee, 2015. He was also a member of Policy Support Group of the APC presidential campaign council, 2015.

Arch. Bulama Waziri was a member of the research, policy and strategy committee of the presidential campaign council (PCC), 2015.

He was a member of National Executive committee of (NEC) of Defunct Congress for progressive Change (CPC), 2011-2013.

Arch. Bulama Waziri was also a member Strategy committee of the Presidential campaign organizations of Congress for progressive change (CPC).

He was a Gubernatorial aspirant in Borno State on the platform of the defunct Congress for progressive change (CPC), in 2011.

Arch. Bulama Waziri was a candidate for the post of National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but he stepped down for Hon. Mai Mala Buni, now Governor Elect of Yobe state.
