BREAKING: El-Rufai Reviews Curfew in 21 Kaduna LGAs, Releases Emergency Numbers
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has approved the recommendation of the security agencies for a significant relaxation of a 24-hour curfew imposed on the state in 21 local government areas.
This is even as the state government has announced that the 24-hour curfew will continue in Chikun and Kaduna South LGAs until further notice.
The Street Reporters Newspaper gathered that from Tuesday, 27th October 2020, residents can pursue their lawful business between 6am and 4pm daily.
Curfew hours will be from 4pm to 6am, in all parts of the state except in Chikun and Kaduna South Local Government Areas due to the security assessment in the local councils.
The security assessment indicates that there are persisting criminal attempts to violate life and property in two local government areas.
Consequently, residents of the two local government areas were advised to remain in their homes as efforts to normalise the situation continue.
Markets, offices and commercial centres, hotels and recreation centres in the two LGAs are to remain closed during the 24-hour curfew.
Social and mass gatherings are also prohibited in the areas until further notice.
However, essential services, including hospitals and medical facilities were to exempted and are to remain open and should continue to offer services during the curfew.
Releasing emergency numbers, the government urged persons with useful information on suspected criminals who have continued to engaged in looting of palliatives warehouses to call the Kaduna State Security Operations Room on 09034000060 and 08170189999.
