Healthcare: Katsina State Government Reiterates Commitment to Continued Partnership with Development Partners
Katsina state government has reiterated it’s commitment towards continuing partnering with development partners to improve healthcare delivery in the state.
The State Deputy Governor Alhaji Mannir Yakubu stated this when he received the regional coordinator of the foreign common wealth Development office Hajiya Nafisa Ado on a courtesy call.
Alh Mannir Yakubu explained that government merged Primary healthcare development agency under one umbrella to fast track health care services in the state.
The Deputy Governor revealed that, foreign common wealth Office has been assisting government through its programm lafiya programme which include provision of drugs, sensitization and training and retraining of health workers as well as eradicating and control of communicable diseases among others.
Alh Mannir Yakubu assured the readiness of Masari led Administration to allocate 15 percent of its budgetary allocation to health sector to meet the foreign common wealth Office demand.
He said the government will strengthen its partnership with the regional office of the lafiya programme to ensure more enlightenment to people especially in the rural area on the importance of health care delivery.
The Commissioner for Health Engineer Nuhu Yakubu Danja called for More collaboration between Katsina State Government and foreign common wealth Development office to address martanal and child mortality rate in the state.
Earlier the regional coordinator of the foreign common wealth Development office Hajiya Nafisa Ado said the office had been assisting government on health related issues.
She said as part of its assistant its provide Personal Protective Equipments PPE worth 315 million naira to the state government to fight covid 19 in the state.
This in addition to lafiya programmes, training and retraining of health workers among others.
Nafisa Ado urged the government to support to enacting of women for health programmes proposed recently.
The bill according to her will promote Girls Child Education as well as ensuring that all child have access to education in the state. In attendance of the meeting where the Hon commissioner ministry of health Alh Nuhu YAKUBU Danja among others
