The Chairman of Bariga Local Council of Lagos State, Hon. Kolade Alabi has reiterated his administration’s commitment to engage the people in participatory government in which citizens will have their say and way.
He also said the administration would promote growth and development of the local council in accordance with the democratic principles of due consultation, full disclosure, transparency, inclusive participation, responsive leadership, rule of law and due process.
The council boss spoke today, July, 15th, 2021 during a townhall meeting organized by KACCO, the campaign committee working for his re election, the interactive session was held in Bawala street, Bariga.
“ It is, therefore, in this light that makes me appreciate the KACCO team for organising this forum to demonstrate our commitment to fulfilling that pledge, ” he said.
Stressing the need for the council to carry out more developmental projects that will impact positively on people’s lives, Hon Alabi added that it was as a result of that need that the council had repositioned his government to enable them to deliver on their assignment. .
“Today , we stand on the threshold to build a new Bariga , the Bariga of our pride , the Bariga we all would be proud of and say I am from Bariga , the land of my birth, hence our policy thrust is repositioning , rebranding and transforming Bariga”
Furthermore , he said we are determined to build to build more roads, especially link roads, he mentioned that Falade will be asphalted in two weeks time, Olorunfunmi – Olorunesan will be linked to Ijagbemi, also to be given attention is Oluwafere to link Akinola, also Akinwale, and the long stretch of Olorunkemi, adding that Taiwo and Tapa will be in front burner. He also said markets will also be prioritised in his second term.
Continuing, he said it is gladsome to note that today, Bariga can boast of disciplined and intelligent youth brimming with ideas, intelligence, and strength, this he said following the address of two members of National youth council, who narrated all the efforts of Alabi in developing the youth of Bariga.
Alabi also used the opportunity to inform the audience of short and long term giant strides the administration has taken and promised to do more .
While not resting on our oars to transform Bariga , he said the National Union of Roads can partner with his admnistration to get a befitting park that will benefit both the union and Bariga people, and indiscriminate parking of buses will be a thing of past.
The DG of KACCO, Hon Wasiu Doyin Banjo, said Naiga residents should come out in their thousands on July 24th, 2021 to vote Alabi and all APC councillrahip candidates , and he can assure them of more developmental strides from his admnistration.
