Lagos Decides: ALGON National President, BOT Chairman, Others Commend LASIEC over Peaceful LG Polls

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has been commended for their efforts aimed at ensuring a hitch-free Election.

Speaking immediately after casting his vote on Saturday, the standard flag bearer of Bariga Council and the incumbent National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon Alabi Kolade David, who was early at the Ward A, Polling Unit 017 of the Council, commended the electoral body and security agencies for ensuring a hitch-free exercise.

He said the LASIEC materials were evenly distributed and expressed optimism in the electoral body’s conduct of the staggered Election which was only took place in Lagos State.

Hon. Alabi used the opportunity to advised for increased awareness of both the eligible voters and registered citizens to guarantee good exercise of their civic rights in free, fair and credible manner especially in the future.

The ALGON National President was accompanied by a handful of supporters amongst whom are the Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairman of ALGON Hon. Odunayo Ategbero and the Executive Chairman Gurara Local Government of Niger State, Hon. Hammid amongst other numerous persons.

In his remarks, the BOT Chairman Hon. Ategbero described the process as peaceful.

At press time, results were being collated from the 57 Local Government Areas and the Local Council Development Areas of the State.
