Following a resolution reached at a meeting of the state Executive council and Local Government Chairman from Western Senatorial District, Kogi State held on the 20th April, 2022, a pro-youth group, the Advocacy for Youth Leadership In Governance, Kogi State of Nigeria, has unanimously adopted Hon. Segun Olobatoke Samuel as its preffered candidate to represent Kabba Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2023.

The decision of the group was disclosed by the group’s President, Mr. Abiodun Emmanuel, in a chat with our correspondent on Sunday.

Consequent upon the development, he explained that the resolution was necessitated by the aspirant’s response to persistence clarion calls of the people of in times of need.

The group added that Hon. Olobatoke Samuel also endeared their hearts for his laudable and people-oriented youth and women empowerment gestures that have impacted in an unprecedented manner on the residents of the constituency.

He added that his pattern of leadership and mode of empowerment has been unmatched and unprecedented in the area.

They also commended the sports lover for his massive jobs creation in the constituency and for uniting and harmonizing the youths through sport activities, including the Kabba Annual Carnival.

The youth group equally commended the wife of the aspirant for her support for her husband through her own philanthropic gestures and job creation through her business empires.

Mr. Abiodun Emmanuel noted that if Hon. Olobatoke Samuel and his wife can touch lives in the manner they do “without holding any public office, if given the mandate, Kabba/Ijumu would be heaven on earth for the constituents.”

The group, therefore, resolved to work tirelessly towards ensuring victory for Hon. Olobatoke Samuel both at the party primaries and in the 2023 general election.
