The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu has sent a personal message to the residents of the state after clinching the party’s ticket ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The APC candidate urged all Cross Riverians to go out in their numbers, register and obtain their Permanent Voters Card “which is our most powerful weapon.”

Prince Bassey Otu then promised that in “no distant time, plans for our dear state shall be unveiled accordingly.”

The full text of the special message reads:

My Dear Cross Riverians,

Two days ago, in a unanimous and resounding show of love and affirmation, I was elected as the gubernatorial flagbearer of our great party, the All Progressives Congress.

I am indeed overwhelmed and humbled by the massive support I received from co-aspirants, Party faithful, Stakeholders, delegates and Crossriverians.

I want to thank the leader of the All Progressives Congress, South South geo-political zone, our dear amiable governor, Prof. Ben Ayade for keeping to his word of returning power back to the south for equity, justice and fairness. Your Excellency, I want to assure you that the South will never forget.

Let me specially thank the leadership of the party and the delegates of our great party who found me worthy to serve and expressed their profound agreement overwhelmingly at the primaries.

I wish to pay my honest and sincere respect and debt of gratitude to all my fellow governorship aspirants for their understanding, cooperation and sacrificial love for our dear State and Party. We all emerged victorious and will win together in the forthcoming governorship election.

I specially appreciate the hard working members and the various support groups of my campaign organization for their passion in this project. Our work actually starts now in ernest as we prepare for the election proper.

I am grateful to all Cross Riverians for their extreme show of love, since the news of my emergence. Our people are clearly willing and ready for a fresh start building on the gains and legacies of the present and past administrations to take us all to new heights.

As we prepare for the general elections, I urge all Cross Riverians to go out in their numbers, register and obtain their Permanent Voters Card which is our most powerful weapon.

In no distant time, plans for our dear state shall be unveiled accordingly.

We however, assure our vibrant and very intelligent young men, women and all others that, in every step we take towards realizing our collective dream, they will be actively involved with the promise of full participation in the governance and management of our commonwealth.
