Labour Party (LP), Nigeria, has sent a condolence message to the Royal Family and people of Great Britain over the death of the longest-serving monarch in British history, Queen Elizabeth II who recently died at the age of 96.
In the condolence letter issued by the Office Of The National Youth Leader on behalf of the party and signed by its National Youth Leader, Comrade Eragbe Anselm, the Labour Party God to grant the people of Great Brirain the fortitude to bear the great loss.
The letter dated 9th September, 2022 and titled “Adieu, Queen Elizabeth II” reads:
“On the behalf of the National Chairman of Labour Party(LP), Barr. Julius Abure, members of the National Working Committee, NWC of our great party, our presidential candidate, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi and our vice presidential candidate, His Excellency, Senator Yusuf Datti, and the good people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I wish to express our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to the United Kingdom Royal Family, and the good people of Great Britain over the demise of the Monarch, our dear mother, grand-mother, and great-grandmother, Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth 1 as we mourn the Queen.
“At this trying moment and time of grief, we pray the good LORD to grant the people of Great Brirain the fortitude to bear this great loss, and her departed soul eternal rest in the boson of our LORD Jesus Christ.
“Her statesmanship, unmatched dignity with consistency no doubt, deepened her globai citizenship as the very bedrock that built for us, a formidable alliance between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
“Her Royai Majesty’s managerial capacity and impeccable character strengthened the Commonwealth of Nations which Nigeria is an integral part, and promoted a universal community with shared values and peace.
“Queen Elizabeth II’s footprints will continuously adorn the sands of time as we continue to tell stories of her legacies and contributions to our world.
“May her soul, rest in perfect peace, Amen”, the letter read.
