2023: SDP Senatorial Candidate For Kwara South Says New Electoral Act A Blessing To Nigeria, Speaks On Why Votes Will Count
The Kwara South Senatorial Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prof. Wale Sulaiman, has said that whether intended or intended, the newly amended electoral act is a blessing to Nigeria ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The medical practitioner who spoke at a world press conference on Monday assured the people that their votes will count, urging registered voters to go out and vote on the election day.
According to him, there may be no 100 percent assurance of a free and fair election anywhere, he however urged the people vote and ensure that what was transmitted electronically was the result of their electoral unit.
Decrying the prevailing decay in moral values across the country, the senatorial candidate said that in the past, nobody would want to be called a thief but today, citizens are protecting thieves from their own constituency, saying “leave him, he is my thief, he is our own”.
He then noted that to strengthen the health sector, there was need for health insurance and many people are poor because they pay for their health care services out of their own pockets.
He assure that the SDP will win the 2023 senatorial polls in Kwara South and in other elections.
Professor Wale Sulaiman was a United States of America based Neurosurgeon and former Special Adviser on Health to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State.
He was one of the first appointees of Governor Abdulrazaq in June 2019 but he resigned from the cabinet after serving for barely one year in September 2021.
