The Cooperative Rating and Award Society of Nigeria (CRASoN) has called for entry nominations at this year’s fifth edition of the Nigerian National Cooperative Awards (CoopAWARDS), saying that the Award Entry nominations deadline is July 19th, 2023.
The award is organised yearly by CRASoN in collaboration with the Federal Department of Cooperatives (FDC) under the aegis of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD).
A statement by the Director of Media and Publicity, CRASoN, Louisa Olaniyi, said this year’s award with the theme, ‘Reimagining Cooperative in Nigeria: Our Success Stories, Challenges and the Way Forward,’ is tagged ‘The Trailblazers-Lagos 2023.
She said the award over the years had gathered momentum that led to an increase in the categories due to stakeholders’ demands for recognition of their efforts in coop development.
According to her, “We now have 50 categories, broadly grouped under four sections to be vied for by all stakeholders.”
She said all the entries must be made online at the group’s website, adding that applicants could enter more than one category if they operate in such an area and have performed excellently to earn the award.
Olaniyi, who said the event’s grand finale would be held in Lagos, said CRASoN confer yearly national recognition honours and awards on cooperatives and cooperators that are outstanding in their contributions to nation’s socio-economic development or Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as celebrate exceptional leaders committed to good governance and enterprises doing well.
“The grand finale event for the 5th National Cooperative Awards, Symposium & Exhibitions 2023, is to be held at a conducive and serene environment in Lagos – Nigeria come November 17th & 19th.”
