No fewer than 23 lawmakers, including the Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, who presided over a sitting by the Rivers State House of Assembly on, have resolved to begin impeachment process against the State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.

The lawmakers also suspended the leader of the House, Hon. Edison Ehie, and some of their colleagues believed to be loyal to the governor.

Recall that the chamber of the Rivers State House of Assembly was set ablaze by suspected political thugs after an explosion on Sunday night.

Several media sources report that some suspected arsonists threw an explosive into the complex around 9:25 pm.
