Have you thought about the right way to begin a chat with a social media user for the first time?

Have you sent a message to a social media user without a response?

Probably you simply sent a “Hi” and was expecting a response but none come.

To send a “Hi” or “Hy’ or” Hello” or “Hey” as first time message to a social media user or as a text message and be expecting a response is not right. Most busy people will not respond to such a message. Some will even find it disrespectful or rude. Yes!

Avoid being too pushy or invasive, and always be mindful of the other person’s boundaries.
