UNN: Day Continuing Education and Development Studies Held Her Home Coming
The Department of Continuing Education and Development Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), recently organised a “home coming” event.
Prof. Uju Nwobi, Head of the Department, explained that the Home Coming celebration was not just a reunion of faces from past, but a testament to the enduring spirit of Continuing Education learning that defined them as a Community.
She added that it was a celebration of their shared experiences, triumphs, challenges and bonds that tied them together as members of the esteemed Institution.
Uju Nwobi made the remark in her address during the celebration recently at university.
She advised her audience to take a moment to reflect on the profound impact that Continuing Education and Development Studies have had in their lives, stressing that through these avenues of learning, many of them discovered their true passions, honoured skills and pursued their ambitions, regardless of age and background.
Prof. Nwobi spoke in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Arizechukwu Igwe, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Romanus Ezeokonkwo; member, House of Representatives, Hon. Chidi Mark Obetta, represented by Mr. Chinweaku Mellitus Anibueze; Prof. Matthias Ugwu Agboeze, Chairman, home coming committee; Associate Prof. Ruphina Nwachukwu, and the officiating minister, Rev. Cannon Moses Nwosu.
She, however, said that their journey did not end there, that their continuous pursuit of knowledge, growth and self-improvement defined their commitment to continuous learning and thus they reconnected with old friends and mentors, soliciting them to re-affirm their dedication to making a difference in their communities and transformative powers of knowledge to all.
“Today, as we celebrate our Home coming, let us also express our gratitude to the Faculty and that have guided us along this journey, who have supported us and the institution that have provided us with the tools to succeed”, she said.
