Missing UNN Female Student Found Dead

A missing 100-level female student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Enugu State has been found dead.

The dead student, who was identified as Favour Okenyi was a student of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science of UNN.

The deceased was reported missing on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, after attending her Chemistry practical.

The corpse was found at the back of Eni-Njoku male hostel within UNN premises on Friday evening.

A video clip which showed the corpse dumped inside a gutter has been circulating Online.

The lifeless body of Favour was found by some students.

Confirming the ugly incident, the UNN spokesperson, Chief Dr. Okun Omeaku, said that UNN management was shocked by the incident.

Omeaku said in a statement on Sunday that the authorities of UNN was collaborating with the security agencies and the deceased family to unravel the circumstances sorrounding the death.

The Chief said that finding out the circumstances that led to the unfortunate development would help the authorities prevent such incident in future from happening again in UNN, adding: “The administration is deeply saddened by the loss of our student and extends heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased for the tragic death of such a promising young student.

“We implore anyone in possession of useful information that could aid in the investigation to kindly reach out to the University administration”, he said.
