As Muslims across Nigeria and the world begin the sacred celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, Hon. Engr. Kayode Adegbayo, a renowned development expert, capacity-building consultant, and Special Assistant on Programmes to the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim faithful, calling for a renewed spirit of sacrifice, unity, and community service.

In a goodwill message released on Tuesday in Abuja, Engr. Adegbayo described Eid-el-Kabir—also known as the Festival of Sacrifice—as a powerful reminder of Prophet Ibrahim’s profound devotion and obedience to Allah. He called on Muslims to reflect deeply on the values of selflessness, generosity, and steadfast faith that the occasion embodies.

“The exemplary spirit of sacrifice, submission, and devotion that Prophet Ibrahim demonstrated is a virtue that all Muslims should aspire to,” Adegbayo said. “Let us observe this sacred occasion with prayers, gratitude, and acts of kindness, especially to the less privileged.”

He encouraged the faithful to partake in Salat al-Eid (Eid prayers) and to emulate Prophet Ibrahim through charitable deeds, practical giving, and a lifestyle of compassion. He emphasized that these values are not only central to Islam but are also essential for building stronger, more cohesive communities.

Beyond personal reflection, Adegbayo called on political leaders and public servants at all levels—from the Presidency to State and Local Government officials—to use this moment to recommit to peace, unity, and service to the nation.

“I pray for leaders at all tiers of government to draw closer together in the spirit of Eid, and to reflect on the essence of peace, love, sacrifice, unity, development, and gratitude,” he noted. “It is only through collective effort and sincere commitment to these ideals that we can achieve meaningful progress.”

Concluding his message, Adegbayo wished all Muslim faithful a joyous and spiritually fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir, urging everyone to celebrate responsibly and with a heart of service.

“May this occasion bring lasting blessings to all families and strengthen the bonds of faith, brotherhood, and national unity,” he said.
