The Young Progressives Party in Nasarawa State has successfully concluded its State Congress with the emergence of a new substantive leadership, describing the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and in full compliance with democratic principles.
The congress, held in Lafia on Saturday, attracted delegates, stakeholders, and party members from across the state who participated in the process without any reported disagreement, disruption, or irregularities.
At the end of the exercise, Hon. Jonah Umaru Ode emerged as the substantive State Chairman of the party, while Comrade Ochekwu Morgan Ocheche was elected State Secretary alongside other members of the State Executive Committee.
In a statement signed by Car. Boniface Donatus, Publicity Secretary of the YPP Nasarawa State Chapter, the party commended members for what it described as a smooth, credible, and orderly congress conducted strictly in line with the constitution of the party and relevant electoral guidelines. 
The statement noted that the atmosphere throughout the congress reflected unity and commitment among party faithful, adding that the peaceful conduct of the exercise further demonstrated the maturity of the party’s internal democratic processes.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, the newly elected State Chairman, Hon. Jonah Umaru Ode, expressed gratitude to delegates, supporters, and members of the party for their confidence and cooperation during the congress.
He praised members for their unity and commitment towards strengthening the party’s structures in Nasarawa State, assuring that the new leadership would work collectively to reposition the party ahead of future political engagements and general elections.
The party further stated that with the successful conclusion of the congress, the YPP now has a fully constituted and substantive leadership in the state capable of driving its vision and expanding its political reach.
Reaffirming its commitment to purposeful leadership and internal democracy, the party maintained that it remains determined to provide the people of Nasarawa State with what it described as a credible political alternative ahead of forthcoming elections.
