Renowned security expert, businessman, and Dan Amanan Fune Emirate of Yobe State, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has lauded the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, for appointing Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani as the new Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, describing the decision as one that has strengthened unity and inspired widespread public confidence.
In a statement issued through his Director of Communications and Strategy, Mallam Abdulrahman Aliagan, Dr. Ajia said the Emir’s choice reflects wisdom, foresight, and a deep appreciation of the religious and cultural values cherished by the people of Ilorin Emirate.
According to him, the appointment has received overwhelming acceptance across the Emirate, with residents from different age groups and backgrounds embracing the decision as one that aligns with the collective aspirations of the community.
Dr. Ajia noted that the emergence of Sheikh Dasuki followed a transparent and thorough selection process, underscoring the Emir’s commitment to fairness, merit, and the preservation of Ilorin’s rich Islamic heritage.
He said the development has further reinforced public trust in the leadership of the Emir, whose reign continues to promote peace, unity, and religious harmony within the Emirate.
Congratulating the new Chief Imam on his elevation, Dr. Ajia described Sheikh Dasuki as a distinguished Islamic scholar, educator, and community leader whose years of dedicated service to Islam, coupled with his academic accomplishments and spiritual discipline, make him eminently qualified for the revered office.
He expressed confidence that the new religious leader would provide sound spiritual guidance and contribute significantly to the advancement of Islamic scholarship and moral values among the Muslim faithful.
