As political consultations and alignments ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State continue to gain momentum, supporters of Engr. Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka have described him as one of the most formidable aspirants being considered for the state’s highest political office under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The position was contained in a statement issued by Idris Alao, a member of the Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria Group, who highlighted Kawu’s professional accomplishments, leadership experience, and commitment to grassroots development as factors that distinguish him in the emerging political landscape.
According to the statement, Kawu has earned widespread recognition through his career as an engineer, administrator, and former executive of the Rural Electrification Agency, where he reportedly championed initiatives aimed at expanding electricity access and improving living conditions in several communities.
The group noted that many residents and PDP supporters are seeking a leader capable of combining administrative competence with a deep understanding of the needs of ordinary citizens. It added that Kawu’s public service record and community-focused approach have continued to attract support across different segments of the state.
The statement further argued that Kwara stands at a critical point in its development journey and requires leadership that can consolidate previous gains while introducing innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. Supporters believe Kawu possesses the capacity to build on developmental initiatives associated with past administrations, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, education, and human capital development.
Describing youth empowerment and social investment as central pillars of his vision, the group said Kawu remains committed to policies that prioritize education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunities for young people.
It maintained that his emphasis on human capital development reflects a belief that sustainable growth can only be achieved through strategic investment in the welfare and productivity of citizens.
The statement also cited Kawu’s grassroots connections and engagement with local communities as major strengths that could enhance his appeal among voters as the 2027 election draws closer.
