ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched a nationwide campaign urging Nigerians to participate actively in the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration exercise, describing the voter card as the most powerful democratic tool for shaping the country’s future.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Osa Director, Esq., made the call during the NDC’s PVC registration mobilization exercise, where he appealed to party members, supporters and all eligible Nigerians to register without delay ahead of the next general elections.
Speaking on the importance of voter registration, Barr. Osa Director stressed that obtaining a Permanent Voter Card is the first step towards ensuring citizens play a decisive role in determining Nigeria’s leadership through democratic means.
“I call on all members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, our supporters, and every patriotic Nigerian to take full advantage of the ongoing INEC Permanent Voter Card registration exercise,” he said.
Describing the PVC as a powerful instrument of democratic participation, the NDC spokesman declared that every eligible citizen has both a civic responsibility and an opportunity to influence the nation’s future at the ballot box.
“The PVC remains the most powerful instrument for every citizen to determine the future of Nigeria through the ballot box. Your PVC is your voice. Your vote is your power,” Barr. Osa Director stated.
The party particularly appealed to young Nigerians and first-time voters, urging them not to miss what it described as a historic opportunity to become active participants in the country’s democratic process.
According to him, sustainable national transformation can only be achieved when citizens fully embrace their electoral responsibilities by registering, collecting their voter cards and participating in elections.
“I urge Nigerians, especially our youths and first-time voters, not to miss this opportunity to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards. Meaningful change begins with active participation in the electoral process,” he said.
The NDC spokesman also renewed the party’s campaign for what it described as the emergence of “a New Nigeria,” saying the country requires visionary leadership capable of restoring public confidence in governance.
He maintained that Nigerians must unite behind a common purpose of rebuilding the nation into one where justice, opportunity and accountability prevail.
“The time has come for Nigerians to unite and work towards building a New Nigeria—a nation where hope is restored to the hopeless, justice prevails, opportunities are created for all, and good governance becomes the standard,” Barr. Osa Director said.
As preparations for future elections gather momentum, the NDC called on Nigerians seeking positive change to participate fully in the electoral process and support the party’s presidential ticket.
Barr. Osa Director urged eligible voters to back Mr. Peter Obi and Dr. Musa Kwankwaso, whom he described as leaders with the vision, integrity and competence to reposition Nigeria.
“We encourage every Nigerian who desires positive change to prepare to participate fully in the next general elections and vote for His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi and Dr. Musa Kwankwaso. They are leaders with the vision, integrity and capacity to transform Nigeria,” he stated.
The NDC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting credible leadership, national unity, economic prosperity, improved security and policies aimed at restoring hope to Nigerians.
The party concluded its appeal by encouraging every eligible citizen yet to register to do so before the close of the ongoing INEC exercise, insisting that widespread voter participation remains essential to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
“The Nigeria Democratic Congress remains committed to promoting credible leadership, national unity, economic prosperity, security and the restoration of hope for every Nigerian. Register today and be part of the movement to build a better Nigeria,” Barr. Osa Director added.
