ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE — The Fix PDP Fix Nigeria Group has projected former House of Representatives member, Hon. Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu, as a visionary leader capable of driving Ogun State’s next phase of socio-economic transformation, urging residents to embrace what it described as a leadership anchored on service, inclusive governance and sustainable development.
The group made the assertion in a press statement issued on its behalf by Segun Adebayo, describing Adebutu as a leader whose political career has been defined by resilience, public service and a commitment to improving the welfare of the people.
According to the group, Ogun State is at a critical juncture in its development, requiring leadership with the capacity to harness its economic potential, strengthen public institutions and expand opportunities for citizens across all sectors.
“Every generation is remembered by the choices it makes at defining moments. For Ogun State, that moment is now,” the group stated.
It noted that conversations across the state—from commercial centres and industrial hubs to farming communities and semi-urban areas—have increasingly focused on the type of leadership required to unlock Ogun’s vast economic and human potential.
The organisation maintained that Adebutu’s experience as a former federal lawmaker, coupled with his grassroots engagement, places him in a strong position to provide the leadership needed to address the state’s socio-economic challenges.
“Ladi Adebutu’s story is not simply about seeking political office. It is about a vision for a state that is richer in opportunity, stronger in institutions, and more united in purpose,” the statement said.
The group argued that Adebutu has consistently demonstrated a people-oriented approach to leadership, describing him as a politician who understands the aspirations of ordinary citizens and remains connected to communities across Ogun State.
According to the statement, supporters of the former lawmaker believe his administration would prioritise economic growth through policies aimed at improving the business environment, modernising agriculture, expanding infrastructure, strengthening education and improving access to quality healthcare.
The group further stated that Ogun’s strategic location, industrial capacity and entrepreneurial population provide a solid foundation for accelerated economic development under focused and purposeful leadership.
It expressed confidence that Adebutu possesses the vision to attract greater investment, support local enterprises, create employment opportunities and position Ogun State as a leading destination for innovation, manufacturing and inclusive economic growth.
“Supporters believe that under his leadership, Ogun State can build on its strengths, attract greater investment, empower entrepreneurs, create jobs, and position itself as one of Nigeria’s leading centres of innovation, enterprise, and inclusive development,” the statement added.
The organisation also contended that the forthcoming political contest should be viewed beyond the pursuit of electoral victory, describing it as an opportunity for the people of Ogun State to determine the future direction of governance and development.
It emphasised that effective leadership must be built on public trust, accountability and policies that deliver tangible benefits to citizens irrespective of their social or economic status.
The group said many residents now desire leadership capable of restoring confidence in public institutions while ensuring that development reaches every part of the state.
According to the statement, Adebutu’s vision reflects what it described as a people-first philosophy centred on expanding opportunities for young people, supporting businesses, strengthening institutions and promoting inclusive governance.
The Fix PDP Fix Nigeria Group expressed optimism that with unity, courage and collective commitment, Ogun State could witness a new phase of growth and prosperity, urging residents to support leaders with what it called the capacity and vision to build a more prosperous future for the state.
