The summit is expected to attract prominent government officials, political stakeholders, business leaders and influential personalities, with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON; Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ola Olukoyede; and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, among the distinguished personalities expected at the event.

The summit coordinator, Ms. Hassie Oyama, disclosed this in a statement, describing the gathering as an important platform for women across the business and political spectrum to build relationships, exchange ideas and engage on critical issues affecting Nigeria’s economic and political development.

The expected participation of the senior government officials is expected to add considerable national significance to the summit, particularly at a time when conversations around women’s participation in leadership, economic empowerment and political decision-making continue to attract increasing attention.

A major highlight of the event will be the presentation of awards to outstanding women who have distinguished themselves through remarkable achievements and contributions to business, leadership, politics and society.

The awards will recognise women whose accomplishments, resilience and influence have helped to create opportunities, inspire others and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Beyond the awards, the summit is expected to provide a strategic networking and engagement platform for women entrepreneurs, professionals, political actors, policymakers, investors and other stakeholders to forge partnerships and explore opportunities capable of advancing women’s participation in Nigeria’s economic and political space.

Other prominent personalities from government, politics, business and the private sector are also expected to attend the gathering.

With its focus on leadership, enterprise, recognition and strategic connections, the Women in Business and Politics Summit is poised to emerge as a significant platform for advancing conversations around women’s influence and participation in Nigeria’s development.

The August 21 summit is therefore expected to be more than a gathering of accomplished women, but a convergence of ideas, influence and opportunities aimed at strengthening the role of women in shaping Nigeria’s future.
