ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Circle of Friends Forum, a non-political and non-religious association comprising businessmen and friends from diverse ethnic and professional backgrounds, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Chief Walter Ameye Daniel Oyo (KSM), aged 90, father of one of its members, Mr. Oyo Akpovi.
In a condolence message, the Coordinator of the Forum, Earl Osaro Onaiwu, conveyed the organisation’s sympathy to Oyo Akpovi and the entire Oyo family, describing the death of a parent as a profound loss that leaves an enduring void in the lives of family members.
Onaiwu said members of the Circle of Friends Forum were united with the family in grief and would continue to provide friendship, solidarity and support throughout the mourning period.
“On behalf of the Circle of Friends Forum, I extend our deepest condolences to our dear friend and brother, Oyo Akpovi, and the entire Oyo family on the passing of your beloved father, Chief Walter Ameye Daniel Oyo,” he stated.
The Forum Coordinator added that the family could draw strength from the memories of the deceased, the legacy he left behind and the support of relatives and friends during the difficult period.
Chief Walter Ameye Daniel Oyo, who died at the age of 90, was identified in the funeral programme as the Ahεrosue of Okpe Kingdom. He was also remembered as a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.
Onaiwu said the Circle of Friends Forum shared in the grief of the Oyo family and would remain supportive of Oyo Akpovi and his relatives as they mourn their patriarch.
“On behalf of all members of the Circle of Friends, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to Oyo Akpovi and the entire Oyo family. May the memories of their patriarch and the legacy he leaves behind remain a source of strength to the family,” he said.
The Forum noted that its membership cuts across different ethnic and professional backgrounds, with members united by friendship, mutual respect and fellowship.
It said the passing of Chief Walter Ameye Daniel Oyo had brought together members of the association in solidarity with their friend and colleague, while joining his family, relatives and friends in honouring his memory.
The Circle of Friends Forum prayed that the Oyo family would find strength and comfort during the period of mourning and urged members to continue to stand by the bereaved family.
