ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has formally launched the OFUJI Movement, declaring that his campaign will be anchored on service, unity, accountability and development.
Anyaso, who officially flagged off the campaign on Tuesday, said the movement represents a fresh political chapter for Bende and would seek to mobilise constituents across Bende North and Bende South around a common vision for the constituency.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, the candidate said he was embarking on the political journey “with gratitude to Almighty God, humility before our people, and an unshakable belief in the future of Bende.”
According to him, the OFUJI Movement is not about an individual but about the collective aspirations of the people of Bende.
“This journey is bigger than Chima Anyaso. It is about our people, our children, our communities and the future we must build together,” he said while addressing Ndi Bende.
Representation You Can Trust
Anyaso said his candidacy would offer the people a model of representation centred on accessibility, responsiveness and accountability.
He described public office as a responsibility entrusted to elected representatives by the people, promising to provide leadership that listens to constituents and remains connected to their everyday concerns.
“I am offering Bende leadership that listens, is accessible, accountable and understands that public office is a sacred responsibility to serve the people,” he said.
The Labour Party candidate also promised to run an issue-based campaign, distancing the OFUJI Movement from politics of bitterness, hatred and division.
He said the campaign would be driven by “hope, unity, peace and ideas—not hatred, bitterness or division.”
Emphasising the need for political unity within the constituency, Anyaso declared: “Bende North and Bende South are one people. Elections will come and go, but Bende will remain.”
He consequently urged his supporters to conduct themselves with discipline and respect throughout the campaign.
“Campaign confidently, but remain humble. Be courageous, but respectful. Tell our story, present our vision, and allow the people to decide,” he told his supporters.
From Community Service To National Assembly
Anyaso also drew attention to his years of community service outside elected public office, saying his decision to contest for the House of Representatives was motivated by a desire to expand the scope of his service to the people.
“I have always believed that leadership is not a title; leadership is service. I have served without public office, and today I ask Ndi Bende for the opportunity to take that commitment to service to the National Assembly and do even more,” he said.
The candidate pledged that, if elected, he would remain accessible to constituents and accountable for the mandate entrusted to him.
“I promise to work, listen, remain accessible, protect your trust and stay accountable to you. By the special grace of Almighty God, I WILL NOT DISAPPOINT NDI BENDE,” he declared.
Ward-To-Ward Mobilisation Begins
With the formal launch of the OFUJI Movement, Anyaso announced the commencement of grassroots mobilisation across Bende Federal Constituency.
The campaign, according to him, will take its message directly to communities and households as the movement builds its support base ahead of the 2027 elections.
“From today, we take our message from ward to ward, community to community, village to village and family to family. The journey has begun,” he declared.
He concluded his message with a rallying call to the people of the constituency: “Ndi Bende, I am ready. The OFUJI Movement is ready. BENDE IS READY! O GA ADIKA OLUEBUBE! OFUJI 2027!”
Anyaso also offered prayers for Bende, Abia State and Nigeria, as he formally set the movement on the path toward the 2027 House of Representatives election.
The launch comes about 18 months before the 2027 general elections and marks an early attempt by the Anyaso campaign to establish a grassroots political structure across the federal constituency.
Political observers are expected to closely watch the movement’s ability to translate the early campaign momentum into sustained ward-level organisation, particularly across Bende North and Bende South, as the political contest for the constituency gradually intensifies.
