BENDE, Abia State — The campaign for visionary and development-driven representation in Bende Federal Constituency has received fresh impetus as a frontline aspirant, Dr. Chima Anyaso, urged voters to put progress, competence and purposeful leadership ahead of partisan politics in the 2027 elections.
Anyaso made the call while addressing community stakeholders and supporters during his ongoing grassroots mobilisation across Bende, stressing that the constituency had reached a defining moment that required leaders capable of looking beyond immediate political interests and delivering sustainable development.
He said the people of Bende were endowed with talented youths, hardworking women, entrepreneurs, farmers and professionals whose potentials could be better harnessed through effective representation at the National Assembly.
“Ndi Bende is blessed with talented and ambitious people. But the responsibility before us is to choose leadership that can transform our collective aspirations into meaningful action,” Anyaso said.
He maintained that the next representative of Bende Federal Constituency must be prepared to provide stronger representation, unite the people and attract tangible opportunities and development to communities across the constituency.
According to him, his proposed agenda would focus on areas capable of directly improving the lives and economic prospects of constituents, including agriculture, small and medium-scale businesses, education, skills acquisition, youth empowerment and infrastructure.
“Let us support a vision that seeks to unite our people, strengthen our representation, attract opportunities, and make every community feel the impact of government,” he said.
Anyaso further called for greater attention to the constituency’s agricultural and commercial potential, noting that improved access to markets, infrastructure, skills and investment could significantly transform the local economy.
He pledged to prioritise effective constituency outreach and legislative advocacy for rural development, while pursuing partnerships capable of attracting investment and economic opportunities to Bende.
Community stakeholders at the gathering also highlighted the potential of the constituency in agribusiness, trade and youth innovation, while expressing concern over infrastructure deficits and limited access to federal interventions.
Anyaso said purposeful representation should not end with speeches or political promises, but must translate into measurable interventions and opportunities that improve the quality of life of constituents.
“The future deserves a leader prepared for the responsibility,” he told the gathering.
Political observers have said the message of development-focused representation could resonate with constituents seeking a departure from politics centred solely on electoral calculations, particularly as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
Campaign officials said Anyaso’s grassroots mobilisation was continuing across the wards, with engagements involving women groups, youth associations, community leaders, entrepreneurs and professional bodies.
They described the campaign as a movement focused on building broad-based support around what they termed “service, vision and progress” for Bende Federal Constituency.
Concluding his address, Anyaso urged constituents to make the 2027 election a referendum on the kind of representation they want at the National Assembly.
“As we approach this election, a new chapter of purposeful representation begins with a choice for service, vision, and progress,” he said.
He then made a direct appeal to the electorate: “Vote Dr. Chima Anyaso for Bende Federal House of Representatives.”
