There was widespread joy and thanksgiving across Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, on Saturday following the re-election of Honourable Bukar Adamu as the Executive Chairman of Damaturu Local Government Area in the council elections conducted across the state.
Hon. Adamu, who is also the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Yobe State chapter, was returned elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The election was held across the 17 Local Government Areas of Yobe State and witnessed a clean sweep by the ruling APC.
Chairman Expresses Gratitude To Allah And Damaturu People
Reacting to his victory, the elated Council Chairman expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for His mercies. In addition, he thanked the good people of Damaturu for renewing their mandate and trust in his leadership.
In a special appreciation message issued by his Media Office, Hon. Adamu thanked the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON. He described the Governor’s trust, confidence and fatherly guidance as the bedrock of his administration’s successes at the grassroots.
“The people have spoken loud and clear. This victory is not mine alone; it is victory for continuity, stability and for the greater Damaturu project. I am humbled and I pledge to work even harder to justify this confidence,” Hon. Adamu stated.
Pledge To Consolidate On Grassroots Development
The Chairman restated his vow to consolidate on his manifestos and service delivery mantra. He said his administration places the people at the centre of governance. Therefore, his second term will focus on key priority areas.
According to him, the areas include grassroots development, public health campaigns, environmental sanitation, youth empowerment and infrastructure improvements. Consequently, residents should expect more impactful projects.
He assured that his second term will deepen alignment with Governor Buni’s developmental agenda for Yobe State. Furthermore, he called on all stakeholders, traditional institutions, party faithful and the good people of Damaturu to join hands with his administration.
He urged unity to build a more prosperous local government for all residents.
