The United Kingdom Chapter of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) held a high-level meeting with its National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson on Saturday.
The meeting took place on September 26, 2026. It was held at the London Park Lane Hilton Hotel. The NDC-UK Executive Committee paid a courtesy visit to Distinguished Senator Seriake Dickson.
Members of the chapter and representatives of the Nigerian community from across Great Britain and Ireland attended. Therefore, the engagement drew Nigerians from across the UK and Ireland.
Dickson Briefs Members On NDC Progress And 2027 Preparations
Senator Seriake Dickson briefed party members and supporters on developments within the NDC. He spoke on the party’s progress since its formation. In addition, he spoke on preparations for the forthcoming general election.
The National Leader was in London while returning to Nigeria from the Netherlands. He had inaugurated the NDC Netherlands Chapter there. Consequently, the London meeting continued his European tour.
During the interaction, Dickson expressed confidence in the party’s leadership and presidential ticket. He urged election management institutions and officials to uphold integrity and fairness. Furthermore, he called for responsibility and patriotism throughout the electoral process.
NDC-UK Chairman Reaffirms Commitment To Party Objectives
The NDC-UK Country Chairman, Princewill Urum, thanked Senator Dickson for his leadership. He reaffirmed the commitment of the UK Chapter to advancing the objectives and programmes of the party.
He assured that the chapter will intensify mobilisation across Great Britain and Ireland. Therefore, diaspora support for the party will continue to grow ahead of 2027.
Also present was the leader of COPDEM, Coalition for the Protection of Democracy. COPDEM is a Nigerian and global political network. The leader commended the direction and progress of the NDC.
He said the organisation will deploy its resources and personnel in support of democratic participation. In addition, it will support initiatives aimed at promoting a credible electoral process in Nigeria.
Dickson To Return With Obi, Kwankwaso For Formal Launch
Senator Dickson disclosed plans for a major return visit. He said he would return to the United Kingdom later this year. He will come with the NDC presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, his running mate, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and other senior party officials.
The visit will be for the formal launch of the NDC-UK Chapter. Consequently, the launch is expected to boost the party’s diaspora structure.
The meeting ended on a convivial note. Participants expressed renewed commitment to the expansion of the NDC and its forthcoming electoral activities.
