All is now set for the peoples Democratic party (PDP) gubernatorial primaries at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo state.

Speaking at commencement of the primary election,the chairman of the gubernatorial primaries committee, Dr. Bala Mohammed, the executive Governor of Bauchi state.”

Edo state is making history today by joining the team of Democrats”. PDP has come a long way, tested and trusted,we are known for internal democracy, openness and transparency despite our shortcomings.

Today we have shown the whole world what good governance means”.he added.

He therefore call on other candidates that conceded to come and formally say it before the people.

Meanwhile, Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon, said that the primaries is the greatest event since the commencement of Democracy in Nigeria.

According to him, the people of Edo state are tired of godfatherism, that is why, other candidates stepped down for him because they are mature and want him to continue as their Governor.

He describe Godwin Obaseki as a gentleman,a man of vision that love to carry people along.

Right now, counting of the votes is ongoing as at the time of filling this report.
