The South East APC Presidency Project 2023, a group seeking the election of a President of Nigeria of South East extraction in 2023, has reacted to response to its call to Nigerians from the region to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The National Coordinator of the South East APC Presidency Project 2023, Dr. Chinedu Jideofo-Ogbuagu in a statement on Wednesday urged the party to reciprocate by giving its presidential ticket to the region.

The group said, “We called on South Easterners to join APC – our preferred party platform for our quest for President of Nigeria of South East extraction in 2023 – and they have answered our and are responding massively.

“Among the thousands of South Easterners who have taken advantage of the ongoing APC membership registration and revalidation exercise to join the biggest political party in Africa are General Azubuike Ihejirika, Ambassador Greg Mbadiwe and a host of other eminent, prominent and notable South Easterners”, the group said.

According to the statement, by this development, South Easterners are saying to APC, “We have adopted APC as our first option on whose platform we want emergence of President of Nigeria of South-East extraction in 2023.

“We hope that APC will reward this massive vote of confidence by South Easterners with its 2023 presidential ticket. With a South-Easterner as its presidential candidate, APC will win 2023 presidential election with over 50 million votes”, the group stated.
