Anambra Guber: Senator Ekwunife Reveals Her Planned Strategy to Increase Industrial Productivity

In continuation of her Local Government Area (LGA) tour to interface with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District and leading guber aspirant, Uche Ekwunife has intimated members of the PDP Nnewi North of her plan to contest for the November 6 polls under the party, saying that she is running to transform Anambra State and use her years of knowledge in the private sector to create wealth and prosperity for Ndi Anambra.

She stated that a private sector led economy will be the engine for growth of both infrastructural and socio-economic development in the state. She added that her government will foster public-private partnerships and create enabling environment for innovation and job creation.

Ekwunife, made this known on Friday, March 5, 2021, at the Nnewi North PDP party secretariat, noting that Nnewi popularly referred to as the Japan of Africa is the second largest LGA in terms of Internal revenue generation in the state, but with little or no government presence.

The Igbo-Ukwu born Senator said that industrial gas should be an alternative energy source for industries over petroleum and diesel powered generators and further promised to ensure a gas line gets into Anambra state and further into Nnewi to ensure that more industries within the Nnewi cluster become more productive.

Talking on, Ekwunife saluted her fellow aspirants in the party stating that they are her friends and qualified guber aspirants. However, she said that she is the most qualified judging by experience, achievements, political sagacity and social capital.

The Senator noted that it is time to have a female elected governor and her dual indigenship is an advantage to the party.

“The party should nominate a winnable candidate because it is only when an election is won that policies can be implemented” the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology concluded.

Welcoming the Senator, the PDP Nnewi North LGA Chairman, Mr. Nonso Amachukwu lauded Ekwunife for her quality representation and said that the Senator has the necessary qualities needed to succeed as a governor. Mr. Amachukwu stated that the party is best positioned to unseat the APGA led government in November 2021.

On his part, Amobi Chikwandu advised delegates to choose wisely from the pool of aspirants.

Chikwandu said that with Ekwunife on the ballot the PDP will win the upcoming election.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Mr. Nnamdi Nwankwo appreciated the Senator and her entourage for interfacing with the LGA Executives. He prayed God to continue to sustain, bless and protect Ekwunife in her quest to become the next elected governor.

Kola Balogun, former member of house of representatives, Hon Micah Umoh, former commissioner for women affairs Anambra State, Lady Henrietta Agbata, fomer member of the State Assembly, Hon Dimobi Joseph, former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs Helen Nwaeri, former commissioner for commerce and industry, Hon Ken Arinze, former commissioner for women affairs, Hon Bridget Obi, former Managing Director Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Chief Victor Okpoko, former Director of DSS, Chief Tony Okoye, Chief Chuka Obiesie (Ezeani Obidigbo na Neni), Dr Obi Anyaayo, Hon Humphrey Iloh amongst others.
