Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, former Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has described the death of Dr Obadiah Mailafia, former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria as a loss to the nation

Prof Soludo, in a press release signed by Mr Joe Anatune, said the news of Dr Mailafia’s death came to him as a rude shock.

He described the deceased as a nationalist and a progressive Nigerian who believed in the unity and progress of the country

The former CBN Governor therefore extend his profound condolences to the immediate family of Dr Obadiah Mailafia and also commiserated with the people of the Middle Belt Region whose cause the deceased had relentlessly fought.

He prayed to God to grant the deceased family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss!
