Yoruba youths under the umbrella association of the Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba (Grand Council of Yoruba Youths), have taken a position in the ongoing internal crisis rocking the Osun State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Making known their position in a statement signed by its Aare – Apapo (President – General), Comrade AWA Bamiji, said the devil must not be allowed by the people “to destroy the achievements and good legacies that Progressives have built in Osun State since 1999 till date.”

The statement reads: “We have keenly observed the turn of events in the preparation for Saturday Gubernatorial Primary of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) since Monday when the immediate past Governor of the State, who doubles as Minister of Interior declared his support for the immediate past Secretary to the State Government and 2018 Gubernatorial Candidate of Action Democratic party (ADP), Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, as his preferred Candidate for the next Saturday APC primary election at Ijebu jesa Rally against the Candidature of the present Governor of the State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, who is seeking a second term in Office.

“In the interest of peace, unity and camaraderie, we will like to appeal to both sides, our longstanding Leader, the Political Strategist, Oranmiyan Worldwide, the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his former Chief of Staff, his Successor, trusted Ally, the great Accountant and Leader of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) in Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, to give peace a chance between themselves.

“The former must accept his former Chief of Staff with open arms while the latter must start giving his former Boss due honour without further delay because after 8 years in power, by God’s grace, he too, will be addressed as Ex – Governor of Osun State.

“We must not allow devil to use us to destroy the achievements and good legacies that Progressives have built in Osun State since 1999 till date. This became necessary, if truly we all want history to be kind on all of us.

“It is high time we joined hands to restore peace into the Progressives for collective good of the People of Osun State.

“This is the Communique of our meeting held Today, which is also a popular position of the majority of the People in the Southwest Region and Nigeria as a whole, particularly, “Omoluabis”, “responsible individuals” part of whom will be the electorate during the Saturday’s Primary election and general election coming up Saturday, July 17”, the youths said.
