Facts emerged yesterday on why Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s social media hirelings have been peddling lies and fake news including ownership of phantom properties against Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in recent times.
It was revealed that every desperate effort including pleas from emissaries sent by Ekweremadu to beg Ugwuanyi to support his governorship ambition which is against the rotation of governorship seat has failed woefully, leaving Ekweremadu and his cohorts with no option than to be fabricating and peddling lies and falsehoods against Ugwuanyi and his government on social media platforms using proxies.
A reliable source in Ekweremadu camp, who pleaded anonymity disclosed that Ekweremadu’s social media e-rats are behind the fabrication and sharing of the fake news of phantom properties on social media claiming they belong to Ugwuanyi.
The plan was to see whether spreading such fake news about Ugwuanyi’s ownership of these imaginary properties will be used to cajole or pressure Ugwuanyi into supporting Ekweremadu’s inordinate ambition.
“Unfortunately the whole thing has collapsed like packs of card as people have rose up in defence of Ugwuanyi’s sincerity, transparency and accountability in governance and at the same time continue to demand for explanations from Ekweremadu on how he acquired the ill-gotten properties that have been investigated, confirmed and published some years ago,” the source disclosed.
Further investigations revealed that in the days, more of such fake news and falsehoods will be peddled against Ugwuanyi as Ekweremadu has seen that despite his grandstanding and noise making, Ugwuanyi is determined to see that fairness, equity and justice take preeminence at the fullness of time on who succeeds him in office.
