Nine NWFL Premiership Referees Suspended Over Questionable Officiating
The Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) has suspended three Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Centre Referees and their assistants indefinitely and have been summoned to appear before the Referee’s Committee to answer questions relating to questionable officiating in three matches in which they were in-charge.
The three matches where poor officiating was adjudged are the Osun Babes Vs Delta Queens, Adamawa Queens Vs Nasarawa Amazons, and Rivers Angels Vs Delta Queens.
According to a release issued by the Secretary of the NRA on Monday, the 16th of January 2023, three Centre Referee namely Joy Ogunboye from the Ondo Referee Association, Beatrice Paul from the Taraba Referee Association and Olufunke Adesola from the Oyo Referee Association were all suspended indefinitely.
The Assistant Referees Suspended also are Olusi Kikelomo, Ajirotutu Esther all from Ondo State, Elizabeth Yunusa Gombe and Wurba Bwulli Ruth from Plateau State, Rofiat Abdulrasheed and Aladenika Adetutu from Oyo and Ondo respectively.
