The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Abia, Alex Otti as the winner of the March 18 governorship poll in Abia State.

Otti, a former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, scored 175,467 votes to defeat his closest contender and immediate-past Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Okey Ahaiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 88,529.

Otti was declared the winner by INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Nnenna Otti, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
