Taraba State LG Chairmen Forge Common Front for Rural Development as State ALGON Chairman Hon. Jauro Hassan Leads 16 LG Chairmen to Meet Governor Agbu Kefas

Hon. (Dr.) Aminu Jauro Hassan, the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State and the state chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has led his colleagues, the Chairmen of the 16 Local Government Areas in the state, to a strategic meeting with Governor Agbu Kefas at the Exco Chamber, T Y Danjuma House, Jalingo, Taraba State capital.
This historic gathering aimed at evaluating developmental reports and scorecards at the Local Government Areas in the State.
While with the Governor, the Chairmen were in one accord to discuss ways to improve service delivery and tackle pressing needs at the local level.
Governor Kefas in his remarks emphasized the importance of prioritizing stakeholders’ welfare and maintaining a symbiotic relationship among Vice chairmen, Executive Assistants, Stakeholders, and the People to achieve lasting democratic dividends.
The meeting was a significant step towards promoting grassroots development and ensuring that local government administration systems prioritize the needs of the people.
With the Governor’s commitment to good governance and the rule of law, the Chairmen were inspired to replicate the visible good works of the Governor in their respective Local Government Areas.
Amongst high points of the deliberations included but not limited to identifying strategies and best practices aimed at tackling the pressing needs of the people at the local level. It also seeks to deal decisively with every challenge confronting the people through deployment of ideas to convert them into opportunities for imperative rural transformation.
The Governor noted that the collaborative efforts of his administration has continued to produce results providing ample opportunity for oversight, safeguard against wastages, institutionalise responsiveness as well as fiscal responsibility.
The Governor insisted that welfare and development remains a critical component of his administration hence he urged all the Chairmen to cascade it down to their various councils.
“Our primary focus is on the welfare and development of our people, therefore our Local government administration cum systems must prioritize their needs” as concluded by Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Executive Governor Taraba State.
